He’s alone in his thoughts as he sits in class. His mind too full of wonder to focus on the task. “Wake up, says his teacher, you’ve got work to do.” “Science and math and a test or two.” But he never hears a word she says. He is lost deep in the fantasy inside his head. He dreams of a world far away Where he can laugh and play. Where girls and boys Can have all the candy and toys. Where dragons can fly And castles soar into the sky. Where monsters roar And eagles soar. Where there are no rules And never a day of school. That is where his mind is at, All day, in that chair he sat. But teacher don’t despair. For while homework he might not care. That boy who you scold Might be the one who changes the world.

Upside-Down World

What if the world were turned

Upside down for a day.

What would it look like

If we changed our ways?

Imagine a world where…..

People loved instead of fought.

Where people trusted and peace was sought.

Where everyone looked for the good in another.

Where everyone took time to help a brother.

Where people sought to do what’s right.

And there was never an unjust deed in sight.

Where children always loved their mother.

And everyone cared for one another.

Where every wrong was repaid with a right.

Where people loved and didn’t fight.

Where people were filled with joy and gratitude.

Where everyone helped and were without attitude.

Where people helped those in need

And were never ever prone to greed.

What if we were all to change our ways?

What a world it would be indeed.
