He’s alone in his thoughts as he sits in class. His mind too full of wonder to focus on the task. “Wake up, says his teacher, you’ve got work to do.” “Science and math and a test or two.” But he never hears a word she says. He is lost deep in the fantasy inside his head. He dreams of a world far away Where he can laugh and play. Where girls and boys Can have all the candy and toys. Where dragons can fly And castles soar into the sky. Where monsters roar And eagles soar. Where there are no rules And never a day of school. That is where his mind is at, All day, in that chair he sat. But teacher don’t despair. For while homework he might not care. That boy who you scold Might be the one who changes the world.

What is that?
You feel awkward you say?
Well, I know the feeling…..
Giving directions then forgetting the way.
Telling everyone it’s Tuesday when it’s really Friday.
Reaching for a dollar
But coming up with a dime.
Getting on stage
And then forgetting your lines.
Tripping over your feet
While walking to school.
Falling asleep
Then starting to drool.
Forgetting where you parked
When out on the town.
Walking around all-day
With your fly zipped down.
Forgetting their name
When introducing a friend.
Talking at dinner
With food stuck to your chin.
Jumping over a puddle
And landing in a hole.
Walking gracefully
Right into a pole.
Grabbing shoes with two left feet.
Falling down right out of your seat.
Doing the splits and ripping your pants.
Getting on stage and doing a strange dance.
I could say more.
I could go on.
Cause I'm so awkward,
And this is my song.
